Iraq from a mothers prespective

Columbus day.. sales galore everywhere..
i also step into Macy's .. though i have done some shopping at Woodbury's just a day back..
today in a mood to buy something for parents..
while i am talking to the sales lady about keeping my selected jewellry as i have to buy few more before final bill..
another black lady( i am not prejudiced for color.. just said as i live in a black dominant part of queens..)who was waiting for the same sales lady to help her commented wow today you bought too many things.
she said i am buying for my son.. he is coming back..i said yeah me too buying for my mom..
i could see hint of tears in her eyes.. i gave a smile back..
here i was face to face with a mom..whos son is not back from war for last 3 birthdays..
he joined army at 18 and missed his 19,20,21 birthday... and this nov he will celebrate 22 birthday.. may god bless both mother son.
she told.. he was expected last week but it got delayed..she was telling about the fear of unknown.. how she is afraid when everytime someone knocks on door..or the phone rings..
she showed me the pic of his son holding his son.. then i saw she is with his grandson who has grown considerably in these last 3 years..
those 10 mins.. showed me .. every where in this world mother is a mother..
and yes above all it made me think..

reminded me of the soundtrack of Rush hour..
War! huh-yeah
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh

life's like that buddy.
I realise it every day - seeing my princess grow.
I just cant imagine how our parents wud have lived with us and saw us grown - we still are kids for them.
yesterday only mom was saying - naina will always be a kid for you - kitney bhi badi ho jaye, you will always think that she is too small :)

Moms are Moms.
